Real-Time Innovations Renews Object Management Group Sponsorship
Marks Seventh Consecutive Year of Continued Support for OMG Technology Standards

Needham, MA - January 25, 2016 - The Object Management Group® (OMG®) today announced that Real-Time Innovations (RTI) has renewed its annual Gold level sponsorship of the international, open membership, not-for-profit standards consortium. As a supporter of OMG since 1999, RTI has demonstrated its commitment and leadership in many important standardization efforts, especially in the area of data connectivity.

"Connectivity standards, such as OMG's Data-Distribution Service™ (DDS™) are essential components of the smart machines era," said Gerardo Pardo-Castellote, CTO, Real-Time Innovations (RTI). "For these standards to thrive, it is critical to have open and independently run organizations. The OMG is a leader in IIoT standards, thanks to its focus on Industrial Systems, the management of the key DDS and UML® standards, and its involvement with the Industrial Internet Consortium. RTI has been very active at the OMG in standards development, as task force chairs, and as a board member. RTI is proud to renew our support as an OMG member and annual sponsor for 2016."

RTI has served as co-chair of the Data-Distribution Services Platform Special Interest Group (DDS PSIG). DDS PSIG is responsible for the standardization of the OMG Data-Distribution Service (DDS) specification - a protocol for the IIoT which enables network interoperability for connected machines, enterprise systems, and mobile devices. It provides the scalability, performance, and Quality of Service required to support IIoT applications. Learn more about DDS at https://www.dds-foundation.org/.

In addition to being an OMG member and sponsor, RTI also serves on the OMG Board of Directors.

"We are proud to have RTI as both a member for its industry-leading work in embedded middleware and IIoT technologies, and as a sponsor for supporting the DDS standard which is deployed in numerous systems today, from mobile phones to banking, air combat sensor and firing integration systems to operating room systems. I look forward to RTI's continued engagement in standardization efforts for years to come," said Dr. Richard Soley, Chairman and CEO, OMG.
