BPM CERTIFICATION PROGRAM UPDATED BY OMG
Needham, MA—The Object Management Group (OMG®) is pleased to announce that it has released the first updated examination in the OMG Certified Expert in BPM 2 (OCEB 2) certification program. The OCEB 2 Fundamental Level exam reflects improvements made to the organization’s Business Process Model & Notation (BPMN) specification in Version 2.0.
Two additional OCEB examinations—Business Intermediate and Technical Intermediate—will also be updated over the next few months to reflect BPMN 2 changes which include a richer palette of event types, more capable depiction and use of data in process models, representation of business interactions in Collaborations and Choreographies, and other features that facilitate and enhance the modeling of business processes.
“By holding an OCEB 2 Certificate, a practitioner demonstrates that his business process modeling knowledge and skills are up-to-date,” said Jon Siegel, Ph.D., OMG’s VP of Technology Transfer and Director of Certification. “OMG is pleased to respond to the many requests from our candidates for certification in BPMN 2.”
Holders of OMG certifications gain recognition for their demonstrated commitment to their profession. An OCEB 2 certification can open the doors to job advancement and promotion, or help with new career opportunities. OCEB 2 certified experts will have the distinction of demonstrating their knowledge of the most up-to-date version of BPMN. OMG encourages practitioners who hold one of the original OCEB certification levels to upgrade to OCEB 2 to show that have kept their BPM knowledge and skills current.
OCEB 2 examinations are offered worldwide in English at Pearson VUE testing centers and will cost $200 USD in native English-speaking countries; $210 USD in countries where English is not the native language and where testing time is extended by 30 minutes. Candidates who have already taken the original OCEB examination may request an OCEB 2 discount voucher from OMG. Granted at two levels, the voucher discounts 100% of the exam cost for those who took their original OCEB Fundamental exam most recently, and 50% of the cost for all others. Valid for one year after the release of the OCEB 2 Fundamental exam, these vouchers expire on 30 November 2014. OCEB 2 Certification at a particular level is valid for five years.
