OMG Software Defined Networking Working Group to Hold Formative Meeting
Meeting will be hosted by Dell Silicon Valley in Santa Clara, CA

Needham, MA- 04-09-2013-The Object Management Group (OMG®) Software Defined Networking (SDN) Working Group is pleased to announce that it will hold its formative meeting on Monday, April 15th in Santa Clara, CA. The meeting will begin at 9:00am PST and is being hosted by Dell Silicon Valley.

Discussions will be led by Manish Patil of Dell, chair of the SDN Working Group. The group intends to develop a roadmap for standardization, with first standards to be completed in 2013. All participants are requested to bring ideas for specific standards to the meeting, with the likely focus on the lack of "northbound" SDN standards in the marketplace.

The SDN Working Group was created by the Middleware and Related Services Platform Task Force at OMG's quarterly technical meeting in Reston, VA last month. The group was established to address an urgent need to set a vendor-neutral global standard for SDN, based on an open multi-stakeholder model with consensus and meritocracy.

The meeting will take place at Dell's Silicon Valley office at: 5480 Great America Parkway, Santa Clara, CA in the Bahamas Conference Room on the second floor. A dial-in number is also available for interested parties that are not able to attend in-person. There is no fee to attend. Please contact Erin Zehr ([email protected]) if you are interested in participating in the SDN Working Group.
